Dr. Erin Danowski-Shea
Erin Danowski-Shea ND first developed an interest in alternative healthcare during her undergraduate education while pursuing a degree in botany. She was suffering from chronic allergies that kept her indoors and away from the plants when she happened upon a skilled Native American herbalist who cured the ailment in a few short weeks. She shifted her focus at school to ethnobotany and began the lifelong exploration of how humans utilize plants to support health and well being.
She went on to earn both a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) and a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. This rigorous dual-degree program consisted of 3,714 hours of classroom education and 2,604 hours of clinical internship including a yearlong appointment with the Immune Enhancement Project where she administered care to patients with chronic disease including cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV, hepatitis, and chronic pain. Her education was complimented with a yearlong advanced Chinese herbal apprenticeship with Dr. Heiner Fruehauf. Post-graduation, Dr. Danowski-Shea completed a primary-care residency under Dickson Thom DDS, ND at Bambu clinic in Portland, Oregon where she became versed in biotherapeutic drainage.
Dr. Danowski-Shea has maintained a thriving private practice since 2010 where she integrates the strengths of western medical diagnosis with natural therapeutics and eastern philosophy. She provides researched and relevant treatment to address the demands of modern living. Dr. Danowski-Shea believes healing occurs through relationship and as such seeks patients who are committed to lifelong wellness and are motivated to be an active participant in their healthcare.
